A student asked me once, “What books were essential to my formation?” I causally rattled off a few of my favorites. The question got me thinking – what texts have been “necessary” in the shaping of my perspective as an artist, designer, and communicator. Books have always been my constant friends and companions. Here are a few that have redesigned my perspective. Their covers on my bookshelf have looked old, dated and well loved. Now they have new life in a gallery, re-imagined by my pen with an homage to their influence and scope in my work.
